FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I want to submit, but I’m not sure if I’m eligible.
If you’re a member of the trans community and have a story to tell, we want you to submit!
What kinds of pieces can I submit?
We’re accepting poetry, artwork, and short non-fiction stories/essays. While fiction stories are great, the focus of the book is real trans people.
Is there an age requirement?
Not at all. Anyone from 12 to 100 has a story and we want to give you a platform to share it.
How long until I find out if I’ve been accepted or rejected?
Give us about 2 weeks minimum to look over your work. If there’s a high volume of submissions, it may take up to a month to review your piece.
Can I submit more than 1 piece?
Do I need to trigger or content warn a piece?
For certain content, yes. For the final edit, we’ll content warn pieces accordingly. For the editors’ sake, if you’re writing something regarding suicide, assault, self harm, r*pe, or abuse just let us know at the top of the submission!
I haven’t legally changed my name, can I still use my correct name in a publication?
Yeah, absolutely! Let us know in your submission the correct name for publication. We want to make sure you’re just as excited about your publication as we are!
Will those whose submissions are accepted receive a free copy of the anthology?
Yes! We will be emailing out a proof PDF to all accepted entrants around the end of 2019.
